Lex Brodie Young Drivers Car Workshop

Does your young driver know where the battery is in the car?  How about the spare tire?  What if your student were out of cell phone range, could he or she perform basic auto maintenance to get back on the road?  Designed for teens with or without a driver's license or car, this half-day survival workshop on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Parker School, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, will teach your child the basics of car maintenance and what to do in an emergency.  In a safe, patient environment, your child will learn about changing car oil, air filter, cabin filter, a flat tire and wiper blades; learn how to jump start their car; the functions of fluids; how to care for their tires; and understand the meaning of dash lights and why safety inspections are so important.  Make sure they know to come prepared to get a little dirty in this hands-on experience. Bonus: each student will receive a gift certificate valued at $45 for a free AAA 38-point inspection.

Suggested age is 15 to 18 years old.  Also open to non-Parker School students. Two student vehicles will be used. Snacks will be provided.
