Online Bidding with Greater Giving
What You Can Expect
This will be our first year offering an online auction which allows bidders to participate regardless of location or event attendance. If attending Kahiau, you will be able to participate in the online auction with your smartphone or with the help of a bidding assistant.
Exciting packages and items will be available to bid on via our online auction which uses Greater Giving Online Bidding software starting Monday, February 27 at 8:00 a.m. until Friday, March 4 at 6:15 p.m. (Hawaiian Standard time). Before the online auction opens, you may preview items. Once open, all bids will be placed using your computer, smartphone or tablet.

How to Mobile Bid with Greater Giving Online Bidding
- Click the green “Start Bidding” button on this page: insert link and click create account.
- Follow the steps to register by entering in your personal contact information, including mobile number, email and credit card.
- Greater Giving will send you an email with a verification link to click. Please open your email and click the link. If you also entered a mobile number, you will receive an automated ‘Welcome’ text with a link directly to the online auction.
- After clicking the URL in the text, confirm your name when prompted and begin searching for auction items by number, keyword, or category.
- Select the item you wish to bid on.
- You can bid the next increment, set a max bid, or simply “Watch” packages (see above for details). If you enter the highest max bid on a package, the system will automatically place bids in your favor until your max bid is reached or until the silent auction closes. If your bid is lower than the highest max bid on that package, you will be prompted to enter a higher bid.
- To purchase a package at the Buy Now price, select the Buy Now button.
- To make a general cash donation, select the “Fund Financial Aid” button on the online bidding homepage and choose a pre-set amount or select the Custom Amount button to enter the amount you wish to donate and select OK.
- If you’re outbid at any point before the online auction closes, you’ll be notified by text message.
- You can keep an eye on packages you’ve bid on or are watching by selecting the menu button and selecting the “My List” button located at the left
- As soon as the silent auction closes, the bidder with the highest bid will win.
- Under “My List” you can check your winning items.
Placing a Bid
Once the online auction opens, you’ll be able to place the following different types of bids:
- Quick Bid - Bid the next increment.
- Bid – Let the system automatically place bids for you by using the Max Bid option! Bidding will automatically continue in your favor until your max bid is reached or until the auction closes. If your bid is lower than the highest max bid on that package, you will be prompted to enter a higher bid.
To place a straight bid, turn the Max Bid feature off and select your desired amount.
- Buy Now – Purchase the package for the price listed.
- Watch – Not ready to bid yet? Watch an item then quickly find it under My List once you are.
If you are outbid, you will be notified via text message.
After the Auction Closes
- Once the auction closes, the guest with the highest bid will win.
- Go to My List on the online auction homepage to view your winning items.
