Kupe'e Shell Necklace

This special kupe‘e shell necklace and two (2)-earring set were handmade by Dina Case of Waimea. Dina says, “To me the significance of the shell itself is beauty and when strung together, unity and love. Kupe'e is one of my favorite shells because of its beauty and that no two shells are ever alike. It's like us as people, strong and individual. (Kupe‘e shells) are like little handmade paintings although they are completely natural." Born and raised in Waimea, Dina began creating at a young age, then later when a freshman at Parker and when she began studying hula with Kumu A'ala Roy Akana, her passion for creating jewelry with shells began. She continues to create one-of-a-kind pieces with shells and opaque stones.
