Painting of Boys' Day Kites by Lee Reynolds/Vanguard Studios
This is your chance to own a piece of art history with this impressive original oil painting on canvas from Vanguard Studios. Before Andy Warhol's "The Factory", there was Lee Reynolds Burr's "Vanguard Studios", which arguably started the1960s trend of art for the masses. Founded in 1965, Vanguard Studios employed numerous artists to duplicate original paintings to give American families the chance to own a "real" oil painting. To authenticate each piece created by Vanguard Studios, the number written on the back of the canvas referred to the painting master, while the initials belonged to the studio artist. This large-scale original painting measures approximately 49" by 61" and has "2303 AP" written on the back. Boys' Day is a Japanese tradition where families celebrate the healthy growth and happiness of their sons on May 5. On this day, families with boys fly carp-shaped streamers outside their homes, as the carp symbolizes strength and success.

Lisa is a fifth-generation kama'aina who holds dear everything the Hawaiian Islands represent which can clearly be seen through her original oil on canvas paintings.
